Refer to the accompanying Installation Guide, InstallGuide.pdf, for additional details. PRODUCT DOCUMENTATION Developers new to the product are encouraged to work through the InLine Standard Guided Tour, GuidedTour.pdf. The tour walks through entity CMP definition in Rational Rose, source enhancement in Visual Cafe, and deployment to the WebLogic server. Core concepts and additional details regarding the use of InLine Standard are covered in the User's Guide, UserGuide.pdf. Assistance with fields and values that appear in the product, as part of the application server personality modules, is offered in the Application Servers Guide, AppServers.pdf. KNOWN ISSUES - IDE Within Visual Cafe, use of the Swing File chooser produces a null pointer exception and a loss of focus. Alt-Tab back to the file chooser when this occurs. The Replace All option, which appears when source files to be generated are identified on the classpath, produces a second prompt in the Forte for Java IDE. Select "Yes" when prompted to reload externally modified source or data may be lost. Intermittently, the EJB Component Editor displays components from a previous project when a new project is created in Visual Cafe Expert 4. Cycle the IDE to work around this issue. KNOWN ISSUES - APP SERVER INTEGRATION The WebLogic container generator, ejbc, will not run if the InLineHome directory contains spaces. Specify a directory with no spaces during installation, to avoid this problem. Due to conflicting JVM requirements, the WebLogic 4.0.3 personality module is not supported in the Forte for Java environment. The IBM WebSphere 3.0 application server requires JDK 1.1. Because of this restriction, InLine Standard integration with the WebSphere server is only available within Visual Cafe. KNOWN ISSUES - UML/EJB BRIDGE FOR ROSE The UML/EJB Bridge for Rational Rose utilizes maximum resources in the Visual Cafe IDE. When exporting EJBs to a Rose model, or generating EJBs from a model, increase Maximum Stack and Heap sizes under Tools-Environment Options- Internal VM. When generating EJBs from Rational Rose, the Component Generation wizard may display in the background. Alt-Tab to the appropriate screen to complete EJB generation. From JBuilder, the Tools-Export Components function may launch a second instance of Rational Rose. At the end of the 30-day evaluation period, the InLineEJB addin remains enabled in Rational Rose, though EJB generation functionality is no longer available. Unconfigure and uninstall InLine Standard to remove the addin from Rose. Copyright (c) 1998-2000 Inline Software Corporation. All Rights Reserved.
